{Recipe) Dairy-Free Frozen Banana "Ice Cream"

Tuesday, July 29, 2014

You guys know how much I love sweet treats, which is why I couldn't wait to share this healthy ice cream dupe with you after my mom introduced it to me last week. The best part? It's completely natural, non-dairy and (wait for it), pretty much fat-free! So don't ever feel guilty about letting bananas go over-ripe again — you guys have GOT to try this!  #superyum

Ingredients:
5 ripe, peeled bananas (cut into pieces and frozen)
2 tbs. honey
Sprinkle of cinnamon

Peel and cut five over-ripe bananas into pieces and freeze thoroughly (for best results, freeze for several days prior to making this recipe). Using a food processor, blend the frozen banana chunks on high, slowly adding the honey for added sweetness. Be careful not to over blend the mixture, as it can start to melt. When the texture and consistency becomes thick and smooth, dish the dessert into bowls and sprinkle with cinnamon. You can also use chocolate and nuts to take things up a notch, but for the calorie conscious, less is certainly more... you won't believe your mouth!

Garnish with banana, a little mint and a flower for added impact, but be warned — you're going to want to eat this ice cream quickly!
Take it from me, it melts faster than you can say 'blog photos.' xx
