J Crew shopping!

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

I went shopping yesterday and took some fitting room pics at J Crew and since they are doing 20% off orders over $150 (expires 2/22) I thought I'd share what I tried on and what I liked!  Unfortunately they aren't doing an extra % off at the stores (I wish!) so I ended up buying online to get the 20% off.

First the sale stuff, this blythe blouse is super cute but when I put it on, I felt like I was wearing a pajama top so I didn't get it.  But looking at the pics, I actually like it and might need to go back to see if they still have my size.  I'm wearing a size 00 and the fit is great although the sleeves are long so I would wear it rolled up.

The lace sweater on the left was really cute and a great fit but it was on sale for $79.99 which I thought was still a tad expensive for it (so I bought it online to get the 20% off).  The tee on the right is really cute.  The green is even brighter in person and I loved it but I have so many casual tees that I'm trying to not add to the pile so I passed (although I still really want it!)  Both are size XXS.  The gray sweater is a bit tighter in the bust (where the lace ends above the chest there's no stretch) so would be great for someone with a smaller bust but still works for someone my size.  The green tee overall had a perfect fit.

Now onto the regular price stuff.  They had a lot of cute new arrivals that I loved.  I wanted to love this polka dot shirt but it just ended up looking sloppy on me.  Their colorful toothpick jeans are sooo cute and I love all the colors.  The green is a size 24 and fits great in the waist but a little tight in the thighs and the orange is a size 25 but a bit baggy in the waist (you can see where it's creasing in the crotch area because it's roomy).  I usually wear a size 25 in all other jean brands so just wanted to give you a size reference in case you are thinking of ordering them.  I didn't love the fit of either of them (it's like I needed an in between size) so I didn't get them but if they go on sale, I'll pounce :)

The striped blouse was an instant love.  I love the color and even though I don't wear much green, I loved the mix of the navy blue with it.  I'm wearing a size 00 and fit is great shoulder wise and on the sides.  The length is long enough to tuck in but looks great untucked too.  (I have it slightly rolled under in the picture.)  The heart print blouse is SO cute.  I don't know why they don't have it online yet but I'm sure it will be up soon.  I love this top but they only had a size 0 which looks okay in the pictures but in person there was a lot of room on the sides and arms so I didn't bring it home with me.  If I see it in my size though, I'll totally be getting it.

When I was ordering online I also saw this silk blouse on sale for $49.99 which I think is a great price for a silk blouse so added it to my cart too.

Did you do any shopping for President's Day Weekend?  Lots of good sales but I didn't pick up much besides these few items.  Oh and if you are wondering, the jeans I'm wearing are the 7FAM The Rachel Bell Bottoms and jewelry is of course from my jewelry line.  The Turquoise Rose Gold Cushion ring and to be released rose gold key necklace and rose gold crystal ring.
