Yesterday was a day of personal triumphs; that's right my friends, I, Vickie Laliotis, introvert extraordinaire, conquered one of my many, many fears and appeared — get this — on LIVE TV! I can hardly believe it actually happened (I've been nauseous at the very thought of it for weeks), but now that it's done, I feel like I climbed a mountain or something... Phewf! These ShoeMint beauties have been imprisoned in my closet for months under the tyrannical oppression of Old Man Winter (what a jerk), but yesterday — joy of joys — they finally got to see the light of day and go for a mini stroll... Huzzah! I'm sure if they could talk they would tell you that they were very, very pleased. Oh, and that puddles scare them. xx

Faux leather is totally my jam, so any opportunity to double up — say in a nice shorts/blazer combo — is fine by me. Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but it's just, well, the greatest. The best part? This whole leather detailing trend makes doubling up more subtle/chic, less Peg Bundy... And I think we can all agree that that's a good thing. xx

I'm pretty sure that when Lionel Ritchie sang about "Endless Love," he was actually talking about coffee... That's all I can say about that. In other news, how sweet is my new spiked necklace from Barefoot Contessa? I picked it up while in Vancouver over the holidays on a shopping date with Mr. AiF's lovely mom (hi Hilly!) and have pretty much worn it ad nauseum ever since. What can I say, it was love at first sight.

{Leather Detail Week} The Jacket...

The leather-detail goodness continues with this denim jacket from Zara... Isn't it cute? It's the perfect throw-on-and-go piece that, believe me, has seen its fair share of action (wink wink). Want to know what's not cute? Winter. And wind. Oh, and frostbite... Soooo not pretty. To that end, please forgive the disheveled hair and mitts— for the next few months just consider them a hazard of the job.
