Well friends, no matter how you cut it, all things bejewelled are back and in a big way. Now that doesn't necessarily mean that fashion-philes the world over are dusting off their trusty Bedazzlers from childhood (although props to you if you are!), but more and more items are popping up with these eye-catching embellishments. As a serious 80's child, I couldn't resist putting together a theme week dedicated to the trend, so please bare with me as we embark on an entire week (squeel!) dedicated to all things bejewelled.

First up — the sweatshirt. Already a mega-trend this year (remember this post?), it's only natural that sparkly jewels should find their way onto these hyped-up items as well. And naturally yours truly is all about it... what a sucker.

This cheerful floral print is getting the girlie stomped right out of it (insert evil laugh here) thanks to some edgier pieces and a whole lot of black. And you know what? I don't even think it minds. After all, what floral print would want to be a one-trick pony, always playing the role of the uber feminine print? My thoughts exactly. Rock on, little floral print — rock on.

Ever since writing this post title, I can't get that Venga Boys song out of my head... Ack! Annoying maybe, but fitting as this is what I wore to ring in the new year with family and friends. I'm slightly obsessed with this skirt from local design darling Malorie Urbanovitch, and to prove it, I've worn it more times than would be considered appropriate for the short length of time I've owned it... But I guess that's the mark of a good thing, no? And speaking of good things, I'm still buzzing with excitement at the thought of a new year and all the potential it holds... Let's make 2014 count, friends! xx

I love a good conversation starter, so to kick off another theme week (yay, Christmas!), I thought it would be fun to feature this battle-scene dress as a holiday option.... because why wouldn't you sport violent scenes from antiquity on Christmas? My thoughts exactly. So should you find yourself at a holiday fete where you don't know anyone, a dress like this should help break the ice. And if that doesn't work, just ask people what their favourite herb is — it works every. single. time. xx
