Every year Summer comes around, and it’s impossible to resist adding a cute new pair of sandals to your collection. Then you look down at your toes and realize you need a pedicure, which of course you treat yourself to, along with a few other polishes to update your Summer nail wardrobe. Sandals and nail polish are quite possibly my two favorite things so I love to do shoe and polish pairings.
Slide sandals are everywhere this season but can easily look overly bohemian. This rendition looks a little more modern with the stripes that play up the simple contrasting color palette. Adding a splash of so-classic-for-Summer coral to the mix punches up the neutrals for a little fun.
These are not my typical kind of shoes but I've learned with carrying a baby while out and about, heels are not the best choice but if I want a bit of height and comfort I needed to add a platform wedge sandal to my wardrobe. To accent the gold details on this cognac sandal, this polish features a complementary gold glitter top coat for layering generously on top of the creamy rose base color. It makes the overall effect a little special, even looking down from five feet away.
When you’re running errands one minute then off shopping with the girls the next, a strappy flat sandal that secures your foot in a basic color is all you really want. This one has a particularly casual finish, so to add a little sparkle, this understated champagne nude polish with tiny flecks of glitter is a perfect pair.
And as always, my shoe of choice is a high strappy heel, I'm loving these (and they come in red too). The polish pairings I picked are all three of the colors in this adorable set. Each color would look perfect with these sandals and change it up depending on your mood!
Do you have a go-to Summer sandal and nail polish duo?

{WW} Show + Tell: ShoeMint Edition
Wednesday, June 4, 2014
So here's the thing about ShoeMint: I always seem to forget that I have a membership. Translation? I end up being charged for shoes each month even when I don't really want/need them. But you know what comes next? That rush of ordering multiple pairs from your credits, pretending like they're a free gift just for being awesome... At least that's what I like to tell myself. Long story short, this is what happened when I forgot to skip April and May — shopping spree! So if you'll humour me, a little show + tell:
THE PRACTICAL PICK: These metallic sandals ($90) where just the ticket to help me rebuild my summer sandal stock after my d-o-double-g had her way with them (that jerk). They're comfy and understated, with just the right amount of va va voom... Aka exactly what I needed.
JUST FOR FUN: I have a hard time turning down a great pair of heels, even if I only wear them sporadically. Needless to say, these bad boys ($90) had to be mine, and I for one plan on getting past Vickie's money's worth — expect oodles of outfit posts to come! xx

Favorite Espadrilles
Tuesday, May 27, 2014
So now that it's getting warmer out, I like to look for more warmer weather footwear, however with Seattle, it's never truly sandal weather until about July. I've been eyeing a few espadrilles and you may have seen the Chanel espadrilles that it seems like everyone has been wearing (or wanting) but I didn't really want to spend that much money on a pair. I did some hunting and came across a few pairs but I ended up with these from Rebecca Minkoff and let me tell you I LOVE them. They are so comfy and they just go with everything.
They are currently on sale at Zappos but you can find them on Shopbop and Neiman Marcus too.
Here's a recent outfit that I wore with them that I posted to instagram.

J Crew tee | Joe's Jeans (a new fave and great for shorties!)
In my search I did find a couple more that I loved, I really wanted the Loeffler Randal Mara but I couldn't find my size. I liked that the Jeffrey Campell ones came in leather and love the lace ones from Tory Burch. The ASOS espadrilles are really cute and a great price! Ultimately I settled with the Rebecca Minkoff ones as I liked the ratio of the espadrille part (not too big) and the detail of the studs and the comfort. But I love the look of these so much I may be buying one of these other options too.

HOW SHOES SHAPE A LOOK: 1 LOOK | 3 DIFFERENT SHOES
Thursday, April 10, 2014

Photos via: The Line
It's crazy how much the shoes you wear can change the feel of an outfit. In this case, while the straight hair, simple make-up and black suit make this an equally sleek and cool look in all three shots, each shoe gives it a different vibe. Which do you prefer the most?

{WW} Metallic Shoes For Spring
Nothing says spring quite like metallics, so when these sandals arrived in the mail recently, I took it as a personal sign that the seasons were a-changing. Unfortunately for me that change was more snowfall than spring, but hey — you can't win every time, now can you? Anyways, back to metallics. They're fun, eye-catching (so shiny!) and just the ticket to put an extra spring in that step this time of year. It's kind of like elegant chic meets cruise-ship-lady, which is probably why I dig it... xx

SHOE CRUSH: GOLD LACE UP HEELS

These gold embossed Schutz 'Slate' Lace Up Heels are looking, in the words of Larry David... pretty, pretty, pretty good. In fact, this might be the start of a crazy shoe addiction seeing as how they also come in black, blush, silver, tan and more. Shoe crush, indeed.
{Wardrobe Wednesday} The Cap Toe Bootie
Wednesday, January 8, 2014

My bootie collection seems to be growing by the day, but no matter how many options a girl has to choose from, this girl's got it bad for anything with a cap toe. I knew I had to have these ShoeMint puppies the minute I saw them, white-leather-and-scuff-prone-blogger hesitations aside... after all, that's what those Magic Erasers are for, right? Right.
Happy Wardrobe Wednesday!
