Yesterday was filled with adventure, as Mr. AiF and I headed out of town for a little picnic and a lot of exploring... There were finger foods, lush greenery (pictured above) and weird, X-Files-inspired architecture (definitely not pictured above). Hey, gotta keep things interesting, am I right?

{Style} The Statement Sweater...

I feel like a total traitor in saying this, but I internally fist pump whenever temperatures drop and the days get a little crisp around here... Wtf is wrong with me, you ask? Well I'm sorry, but if loving layering as much as I do is wrong, then I don't want to be right. Besides, it's been months since I've worn a sweater let alone popped a collar underneath one, so I figured I was long overdue for a Kenzo moment... Next up is tights, but if I say that aloud Kastles might just beat me with a stick.

{Style} My Fair Lilac...

With the weather heating up (and let's not forget my overall disdain for being too warm), dressing has proven particularly challenging as of late. Seriously though, I don't know what to wear to work let alone in public when temperatures spike, which is problematic not only as a fashion blogger, but as a fellow human being who, you know, cares about norms and conventions and whatnot. Exhausting. That's why I was ecstatic when things cooled down juuuust enough for the ol' pants to come out, which — let's face it — are my sartorial happy place... Now let's just hope that Mother Nature reads my blog and decides to cut me some slack over the next two months.

{Style} Boardwalk Empire...

Never one to turn down a photo op, I was pretty pumped when my friend Jerry (yes, the dude in the bacon suit) offered to go on a photo adventure this week... What a guy! Turns out he's a bit of a wizard behind the lens, especially considering the fact that he generally photographs houses and not picky fashion bloggers — And take it from me, anyone who puts up with requests for "vertical lower body detail shots" and "horizontal full body landscapes" without complaint deserves a medal. Or, you know, at least a macaron or two.
