Sugar makes my world go round (which you'll know if you follow me on Instagram), so when it comes to Valentine's Day, the more sweets the better. In between baking sugar cookies and stuffing my face with chocolate (truth), I often find myself creeping food photos on Pinterest this time of year. So if you have as big of a sweet tooth as I do, here are 6 must-try Valentine's recipes to try... and hey, I'm always around if you feel like sharing. xx

{Bedazzled Week} Embellished Cap DIY
Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Welcome back for more bejewelled action! Today we're jazzing up a basic black cap for some added impact. This is one of the easiest projects you'll ever try, so grab some jewels and your trusty glue, because we be-dazzlin' ladies!
SUPPLIES:
- Baseball cap (I sourced mine from Michaels)
- Flat-backed jewels (also from Michaels)
- Strong adhesive

Start by pre-arranging your gems into your desired pattern. Once you know where everything should go, start gluing down the embellishments, pressing down firmly on each gems for about 30 seconds to adhere.

Let the gems dry fully (I would recommend at least an hour before use), then take that new cap of yours for a spin... Holy chic!

Weekend Reading: 01.25.14
Saturday, January 25, 2014
This week has been a doozy, with a different event or obligation nearly every night on top of everything else. So aside from a couple fun outings (including a date with Kastles and a trip to Swept), I'm laying low this weekend. So if you're like me you have a chill weekend ahead, here are some links to check out — happy reading!
1. Grace's reflection on blogging over the years really resonated with me — especially that plaguing feeling of not adding anything of value to the world.
2. I loved these 10 tips for a productive life.
4. This photo prop DIY is the cutest.
5. Totes feeling Krystal's date night style.
6. An interesting read for those selling online: What kind of Instagram photos drive sales.
7. The 7 best online workouts (in case you're like me and still need a little push).
8. This copper leaf mani is stunning.
9. I wrote a story for the Edmonton Journal about personalizing your bridal wear — get ready for leather and fur!
10. When imitation is not the sincerest form of flattery — this post really hit home for me as I'm dealing with a similar situation.

Who's ready for some more bridal wear? If you caught last week's post, you'll know that I was lucky enough to play dress-up in some seriously dreamy dresses from Delica Bridal in honour of Swept's upcoming event (this Sunday!). We had a little more fun with this round, personalizing the gowns with leather (oh, baby!), vintage fur and some leopard print... Afterall, who says bridal wear has to be boring?
If you live in Edmonton and want to check out Swept, register while you still can — the countdown is on! And if you see me there, come say hi — I'll be the one camped out by the wedding cake tastings. xx

As a future bride-to-be, I was beyond excited when Swept — a boutique bridal show happening here in Edmonton — asked me to model some bridal wear for them. I mean seriously, twist my rubber arm why don't you! I can count the number of times I've actually touched a wedding dress on one hand, so having the opportunity to play with Delica's countless (and not to mention totally stunning) dresses was the funnest... sigh.
If you live in Edmonton and want to join the fun (do it!), check out the deets here — just don't wait too long to register; tickets are super limited and this thing is going to be crazy awesome! xx

Hello Friday, you gorgeous thing you... Even though I'll be chipping away at deadlines all weekend, I'm oh-so very happy to see you. Have you been working out? Because you're looking really good...
