A new series! Weekly Outfits

Ever since I had my daughter, it's been really hard to make time to take outfit photos.  I still wanted to share my outfits so I borrowed an idea from Cupcakes and Cashmere to take weekly outfit photos in my home office!  This way it's easier for me to just take a snap with my tripod and remote.  Although I do have to admit that I may sometimes forget to take photos or I'm not in my home office that day but I'm just going to do it as I can but will try to make this a weekly series on the blog.  A note about the links: I've been doing less shopping these days and exploring my closet so a lot of these outfits are old pieces but the ones that I bought recently and are still in stores I marked with an "exact" in the link.  Other links are similar styles that I could find.

Lookbook: Stripes and Lace

What I'm Wearing
ZLZ Coat (c/o) - the quality of the jacket is nice, the lace is not the cheap kind that wrinkles at every point and the coat is lined inside.  It's a great spring to summer coat.  Loving a few of their other lace pieces like this dress and this blouse.
J Crew Tunic - wearing a tunic definitely helps hide the bump especially when I'm not wearing maternity jeans.  Take 40% off all sale today only!  Use code WEDNESDAY.  Similar tunic and on sale for $39.  I also like their popover style too in this pretty blue. 
Rich and Skinny jeans -  I rarely wear snakeskin print but love the print of these that make them stand out from the rest of my jeans and will definitely be wearing them through the fall.
Gucci heels - same style in black. 
Chloe Mini Marcie - also here in a gorgeous gray.  Definitely one of my top favorite bags and probably favorite purchases of the year!

What I'm Wearing
Zara Tweed Blazer - no longer available.  Pricey but really pretty tweed jacket and cute tweed here for about $100.
Target Boy's Chambray Shirt - Yup, this is from the boy's section at Target!  $12.99 can't go wrong!  I'm wearing a size M.
J Crew Striped Shirt - similar and similar on sale
J Crew Cafe Capri - These are the wool ones and unfortunately are unlined so can get a bit itchy.  But they do keep you very warm.  They do have the Cafe Capri in cotton which are much more comfy.

This is what happens when it's still so cold out, I try to figure out how to put on as many layers as possible!  I bought the tweed jacket when I was in Chicago visiting my sister last time and I liked it but didn't know how much wear I'd get out of a white tweed jacket.  Well, I've proved myself wrong as I find myself reaching for it on a weekly basis.  It's always on rotation as it just seems to go with everything.

One of a Kind Style

Following up from my last post on My Signature Style, one of the things that I think I work into my style is always mixing high and low brands/prices into all my outfits.  I don't believe that you have to buy designer everything to look good.  And even though I do love my designer brands, finding a cute piece at Forever 21 or getting a really good deal on a sale is something that I love as well.

If you've read my blog for awhile you'll know that I usually invest in handbags and shoes but with all my outfits I like to mix high and low pieces pretty evenly throughout.  I think this helps balance out the low pieces to make them look a bit more expensive but then it also helps to create easy every day outfits where you can wear your designer pieces without looking like you are just all about brand names.

{Remix} Shorts Story...

There's nothing I love more than a good pair of versatile, timeless shorts... Can you tell? I've only worn these faux leather lovelies like a million times, each of which never ceased to delight me with their diversity. From blouses and sweaters, to blazers and tights galore, the possibilities are endless where these not-so-basic basic shorts are concerned. Ooooh yeah.

And in other news, I apparently have a tendency to remix within remixes, especially where accessories are concerned. Exhibit A: quilted bag and booties. Is it a coincidence that they appeared twice in this remix roundup? I think not.

What I'm Wearing

Top: ASOS - no longer available, cute BCBG top in a pretty blue.  This Forever 21 top is a great option for the summer and love all the colors!  For $13.80 I think I'll pick up two colors!

Pants: ASOS Lace Skinny Pants - on sale!  These lace pants are gorgeous as well (love that teaberry color) but I haven't had much luck with ASOS regular sizing pants.  They run a bit big so if you are my size, stick with the petite sizing.

Shoes: Gucci Hollywood Pumps (in beige logo) - you can also get the "new hollywood pumps" in black and nude and they look a bit more comfortable because of the small platform in front.

Bag: Miu Miu Bow Bag - on another note, I love this mint Miu Miu clutch!

I went shopping last night and J Crew had the very popular Blythe Blouse on sale in this pretty yellow color.  I had to let you know since it rarely goes on sale and when it does, it sells out really quickly.  It's $59.99 in stores and online it's still $98!  I'm wearing the 0 here but they said U Village has seven size 00's so head on over there or call them if you want one!  I'm headed there tomorrow to get mine.

Also on sale: Perfect Shirt in Leopard (I came in wearing this),  3" Chino Short (in Grappa Punch) and Apple print shorts (so cute! They came home with me.)

*Blouse: Aritzia - super cute green/blue striped top (and on sale!) or this fab J Crew striped blouse that was supposed to be coming to me but the order mistakenly got canceled :(
*Jeans: Blank NYC from Madewell (now on sale!) - also in this gorgeous blue.  Size wise, I stayed true to size.  They do stretch out after a few wears but not in a bad way.
*Shoes: Gucci Hollywood (in black) or beige logo.
*Bag: Chloe Marcie (in blue) - I also love the new crossbody Marcie!  If you follow me on pinterest you probably already saw this pin but I also adore the mini Marcie in periwinkle!
