iPhone #OOTD (Winter style!)

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

Some outfits that made it to my instagram but not on the blog...

Always bow obsessed (as you can tell from my recent post).  I'm loving our new bow bangles (have you seen the crystal encrusted ones?  My new fave!)  The J Crew cardigan is from last year but still a favorite.

Husband got me some new shoes for Christmas.  I call them my "mommy shoes and date night shoes"  I'm still a heels girl (even when I'm pushing a stroller) but for those days when I'm out running errands and just carrying Layla around I need something a bit more practical so I love the Nike Sky Hi's with the hidden wedge.  Still makes me a bit tall but very comfy to run around in!

I've worn this sweater too many times to count this winter.  I love the bright red lips, even if Layla does attempt to rip each rhinestone off every time I wear it.  It's on sale now!

Bracelets: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4

A new necklace and one that always gets compliments whenever I wear it!

My new printed jeans have been a great alternative to just regular blue jeans.  And I haven't worn any of my blazers all winter (blazers are so hard to wear under winter jackets!) but luckily stayed inside most of the day for this outfit.

I was glad to have bought the Hunter x Rag and Bone boots early in the fall but funny enough it hasn't rained that much this year!  But the times that it has been a downpour I'm thankful to have these boots.  They really are the best for rainy days!

A recent outfit I wore to the office and then out shopping.  Easy and comfy!  Love the hearts and my very old OTK boots!

I haven't been much of a vest girl until recently and realized just how warm they really do keep you.  Also, after putting this post together, I do realize I wear way too much J Crew :)

A typical arm stack and the cutest studded hair tie.  I don't even want to tie my hair back with it, I just like wearing it as a bracelet!

I randomly came upon these leather-like leggings at Target and I can't even tell you how obsessed I am with them.  They are one of the best faux leather leggings I've come across!  Only the front panel is "leather" the back is just a ponte type fabric but man they are so comfy and look so good.  AND they are only $19.99!  I'm going back to Target just to get another pair as I think I may wear these ones out!

Being a new mommy and owning your own business is, to say the least, A LOT of work.  I don't get a maternity leave and so it's been a bit tough taking care of a newborn and making sure that my business is not only running but continuing to grow.  Thank goodness for my sister who's done so much and of course my parents and my in laws.  I love what I do and wouldn't change it for the world, maternity leave or not.  I get to be with my daughter and do what I love every day so I can't complain.  Anyway, as you can tell, my blog has taken a back seat and so has lookbook photos but I still like to occasionally take snaps of my accessories and outfits via my iPhone so thought I'd share!

Cabo Trip

Friday, October 12, 2012

I wasn't planning on writing a post about my vacation but then I looked through my phone and had quite a few pics so thought I'd share.  My husband and I have been so busy the past few months and we wanted to really just get away and have a nice relaxing vacation so I thought very little about my blog during that time and just enjoyed the moments without thinking "I should blog about this." We of course took photos with our DSLR but I wouldn't be me without taking a million photos on my phone.  A day does not go by without me taking photos on my phone.  Sometimes I share them on instagram but mostly they just stay on my phone for memories sake :)

A quick snap of the beach on the day we arrived.  It was wonderfully warm and a bit humid but not TOO hot which was great.

I don't usually wear jewelry when going to the beach/pool but we were just taking a stroll along the beach after lunch so I wanted to get a picture of my jewelry against the sand.  I wore a very neon outfit!  (tank by Aerie and shorts by J Crew)

We've been to Mexico several times and almost every resort we stayed at has just had OK food.  The resort we stayed at this time (Fiesta Americana) had really great authentic Mexican food.  We are not fans of the all inclusive resorts as we've found that food quality is not as great at all inclusives so you do end up paying a lot for food at resorts but it's well worth it to me when it's yummy.  Their homemade tortillas were AMAZING.

Shot of the resort from the lobby.  It was such lovely weather, I wish I could be there now!

An outfit shot before dinner.  I like to keep it minimal when on vacation so I mostly pack just dresses.

There was a hurricane nearby so the waves were a bit more rough.  We had one day that just poured buckets but it was nice to have a day away from the sun as both my husband and I, even though we slathered on sun screen, managed to get sunburned.  We sat in the outside (covered) patio of one of the restaurants with some drinks and watched the rain pour down.  It was actually quite entertaining :)

One of those weird touristy photos, where I'm just posing by a giant cactus.  LOL. I'm not a big pop drinker but even I could not resist the deliciousness of Mexican pops.  The coke was delightful of course but I loved the Orange Fanta.  It really is much better in Mexico!

Just another stroll on the beach on one of the last days.  We spent a lot of time laying by the beach, reading and napping but I really enjoyed walking along the beach, dipping our toes in the water and being with my husband, just the two of us.  (That's the awesome part about going to Mexico in September, the beach was almost always empty!)

It was my birthday during that week and we went partly to celebrate my birthday and partly just to go on a vacation.  I've had a lot of great birthdays but this one with just my husband and I was one of the best ones yet. :)

March 2012 in photos!

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

March was probably one of my busiest months ever and I loved every moment of it. I started it out with a quick trip to NYC where at the very last minute (literally I was getting on the plane) I found out that the fabulous Jean was going to be there at the same time so we planned a meetup that night after I landed!  She's as lovely in person as she is online.  It's always so nice to meet online friends in person!

And the reason I was in NYC?  For a video/photo shoot for Kohl's!  It was SO much fun to get my hair and make up done and meet the other fabulous bloggers that were going to be in the shoot.  The photo shoot was fun, the video shoot was nerve wracking (you'll see it on the Kohl's website next month, I think) but it was a fun and fabulous experience!

Well, I couldn't leave NYC without doing some shopping right?  I stumbled upon the Century 21 shoe store and I went nuts!  Look at all the pretties I found in MY SIZE!  You know how hard it is to find shoes in a size 5 so to find all of these highly discounted designer shoes in my size, I was SO happy.  From L to R, Lanvin, Manolo, Manolo.  All were under $300!

Here's what I ended up getting.  Manolo sequin pumps and Casadei animal print pumps.  The funny thing, most of my pumps are round toes so these are my first pointy toes and now I'm obsessed with the shape!

When I got back, my weeks were pretty much filled with events.  One of which, the opening of Blackbird Apothecary that I went to with the gorgeous Rachel and the gorgeous (and tall!) Carolyn.  So lovely to meet Carolyn in person after at least of year of talking about meeting up.  She's the sweetest and I adore her blog!
I was lucky enough to be invited to the grand opening of the new downtown Seattle location of the Nordstrom Rack before it opened to the public.  I LOVE the new location, seriously it is 10x better than the old one!  I was also able to find some pretty good finds!  Manolos on the left and Marc by Marc Jacobs pumps on the right.

But I ended up with a pair of sassy little red Rag & Bone Oxfords!  They are so not "me" but they were cute and so comfy so I decided to mix things up and leave the heels behind this time.  I also got bright blue jeans from Paige Denim and a couple of bright tops.  (Oh and they were super nice to give us a giftcard to shop with!  Thank you to Nordstrom Rack for inviting me and putting together a great event!)

These Chanel babies were not at the rack, but at the regular Nordstrom and I fell IN LOVE.  Aren't they gorgeous?  I hemmed and hawwed and put them back because of the price tag.  But then I spent a month dreaming about them and they actually came home with me this weekend!

Bags that I'm coveting: PS1 Pouch bag and new Chanel releases
The next event was my Madewell shopping event where you already saw the pics :)  Thanks again for those of you that came out!
And ANOTHER event was the grand opening of Noir Lash Lounge in Bellevue! (I brought my camera to the event that's why these pics are so much nicer)  t+j Designs was a sponsor and we added a fun little card + discount to the gift bag (the congrats card is from us!)

Me and my friend G who came to the event with me (Picture is from Noir's facebook) and me and Joyce, the owner of Noir!  If any of you ladies are looking for a place to get lash extensions, definitely check out Noir.  They only do lashes there so they are amazing at what they do!  And they are right next door to Julep (who you know I love too) so you can get your nails done right after you get your lashes done!
Love Joyce's oufit, she's so fabulous!  She's wearing our Gunmetal Braided Necklace which was super sparkly and looked great on her!  I'm wearing the Casadei pumps from above and our Ivory Bangle with Gold Details.
It wouldn't be a month in pictures post without some food right?  For some reason I didn't take that many this month!  But here are a few...  Cupcakes from Cake Envy, hands down my favorite cupcake place in Seattle and not because the owner is the sweetest girl ever (she is) even if she was a big B I'd still eat their cupcakes!  LOL!  And on the right are buttermilk bacon and cheese biscuits that I made loosely following Barefoot Contessa's recipe.  They are soooo good.

These two pictures aren't related but I liked them together.  haha. The birthday cake was for my Mother in-law and is also from Cake Envy and on the right is a present (to me - I told you not related) from the amazing designer, Yoana Baraschi that I love.  I can't wait to show you guys!

And now just random snapshots that make no sense but I just wanted to include them.  Hehe.

We bought my nephew these little shoes from H&M.  He has really wide feet and so we were worried they wouldn't fit but they did and he was so cute running around in them!  We liked the sockless look.   I'm not sure mom and dad did though.  ha!  That's why we get to be the "fun" aunt and uncle right? ;)
Savvy got dressed up in green for St. Paddy's Day...

At the end of March, we finally got some sun!  So I pulled out my bright pink shirt (from Nordstrom Rack) and took the doggies on a walk to see all the pretty Cherry Blossoms blooming.  Also wearing the Charmed Key Crystal Necklace from our new Charming collection.
Oh! I have to mention that I'm still using the Maybelline Illegal Lengths Mascara and it's still amazing!  It really adds length to your lashes and the waterproof one is great, no smudging at all.
I love putting together these posts because I always forget how much stuff happens in a month!  Don't you just love that about your camera phones?  It's so easy to capture everything now!
