Weekly Outfits: Skirts and Dresses

Thursday, July 31, 2014

Apparently it was a skirt week for me but most likely because I was too excited about our new skirts.  I have been wearing them non stop, they are the perfect summer skirt and I can't wait to pair them with tights for the fall!

This was an easy outfit for the office and unlike how I wore it on my Monday post, I had to add my usual color.  I've had this pink blouse forever but forgot about it and recently re-discovered it in my closet.

I got these pumps at the last designer shoe sale and they are my current obsession.  I think I was in the mood for color this day as it's not my typical outfit.  I love color but usually just let one color stand out.  I think that's what summer does to me, I like to wear as many bright colors as possible!

These are practically like pajama shorts.  They aren't, but they are so comfy that they should be!

Our new polka dot skirt that is my favorite out of our collection.  It's just so feminine and fun, I love the polka dots!  I've been asked about sizing and yes, sizing runs a little weird.  We are working on our sizing to be consistent (and we promise that the next collection will have three size ranges) but this skirt in particular runs a bit small.  The small could fit an XS to small, just check our measurements in case you aren't sure!

Another bright outfit but when I saw this dress on Shopbop, I couldn't help but order it just to try it on.  Of course when I got it, I fell in love.

I know I talk about my business a lot on here but it truly is my life.  I love what I do and I can't imagine doing anything else.  My sister and I have really loved working with jewelry in the past two years but we've also always dreamed of expanding our product line.  We launched a little collection of tees in the past month and we've already sold out of all our inventory twice which makes us so happy to see other people enjoying our designs.  We have been working on our line of skirts from some time now and we are so excited to share them with you all.  I got together with my friend and photographer Jen to shoot this look and love the shots that she got in one of my favorite parks in Seattle.  Make sure to check out tiffandjen today as well to see how Jen styled the skirt as well!

photo from the talented Kirsten Miccoli

I'm so happy to introduce our new blog, tiffandjen.com!  As you may know, my sister and I started t+j Designs almost 3 years ago and throughout this time we would get lots of questions both online and in person about starting our business, how we juggle being moms and business owners, how we come up with our collections, etc...  We love getting those sort of questions but we don't really go into those on our personal blogs so we decided to come together and create a blog that would go a little bit more into our lives as entrepreneurs and give a behind the scenes look into our business!  I would love for you guys head on over there to check it out, our first post is just a fun post about 5 things that you may not know about us and our business.  Click on over to find out some interesting facts about us! :)  We would also love if you subscribe to our newsletter and to thank you, you'll get a 20% off code to use at t+j Designs!  Thanks always for your support on my blog and business and excited for you to see what we have in store for you over at Tiff + Jen!

Lookbook: Hot Pink and Stripes

Boden Full Ponte Skirt - comes in a few different colors.  I bought the full stripey skirt too and it's just as cute!
A striped skirt is always a necessary in my closet!  I can pair it with anything and love this navy one that I can tone down with dark colors during the winter but now that the sun is making an appearance I was able to add a very bright pop of color with it!  It's been a very gray March and I've been in a bit of a dark color funk and even though the skirt is navy, the shape and the pairing options are what make it fun and easy to add a bright color too!  I haven't shopped with Boden before but a quick glance through the catalog and I marked quite a few things to add to my list.  Sizing wise, the brand is I believe based on UK sizing.  The size 2 (their smallest size) fits like an 0/XS.

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Boden through their partnership with POPSUGAR. While I was compensated by POPSUGAR to write a post about Boden, all opinions are my own

Style Guide: Spring Inspiration

Monday, February 10, 2014

The snow in Seattle this weekend had me so bundled up that it has me dreaming of spring... Just thought I'd bring a little spring inspiration to the blog today!

I love pairing bright with bright and of course the necessary statement necklace.  Those rose gold pumps are just too pretty!
SHOP LOOK 1: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

Mint is still such a big color and this necklace is a favorite for spring.  And matchy match can be a bit much sometimes but with the necklace up top and the mint on your feet, it's the perfect accent color.  I love these light wash skinny jeans and paired with a simple striped tee, it's going to be my go to spring uniform!
SHOP LOOK 2: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

I'm excited to be able to wear dresses again and I am just loving the lace top dress.  I'm kind of obsessed with these nude pumps with the mesh detail.  (Love in black too.)  Add a bit of bling and a pink wristlet and I'm set for night out with my girls!

iPhone #OOTD (Winter style!)

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

Some outfits that made it to my instagram but not on the blog...

Always bow obsessed (as you can tell from my recent post).  I'm loving our new bow bangles (have you seen the crystal encrusted ones?  My new fave!)  The J Crew cardigan is from last year but still a favorite.

Husband got me some new shoes for Christmas.  I call them my "mommy shoes and date night shoes"  I'm still a heels girl (even when I'm pushing a stroller) but for those days when I'm out running errands and just carrying Layla around I need something a bit more practical so I love the Nike Sky Hi's with the hidden wedge.  Still makes me a bit tall but very comfy to run around in!

I've worn this sweater too many times to count this winter.  I love the bright red lips, even if Layla does attempt to rip each rhinestone off every time I wear it.  It's on sale now!

Bracelets: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4

A new necklace and one that always gets compliments whenever I wear it!

My new printed jeans have been a great alternative to just regular blue jeans.  And I haven't worn any of my blazers all winter (blazers are so hard to wear under winter jackets!) but luckily stayed inside most of the day for this outfit.

I was glad to have bought the Hunter x Rag and Bone boots early in the fall but funny enough it hasn't rained that much this year!  But the times that it has been a downpour I'm thankful to have these boots.  They really are the best for rainy days!

A recent outfit I wore to the office and then out shopping.  Easy and comfy!  Love the hearts and my very old OTK boots!

I haven't been much of a vest girl until recently and realized just how warm they really do keep you.  Also, after putting this post together, I do realize I wear way too much J Crew :)

A typical arm stack and the cutest studded hair tie.  I don't even want to tie my hair back with it, I just like wearing it as a bracelet!

I randomly came upon these leather-like leggings at Target and I can't even tell you how obsessed I am with them.  They are one of the best faux leather leggings I've come across!  Only the front panel is "leather" the back is just a ponte type fabric but man they are so comfy and look so good.  AND they are only $19.99!  I'm going back to Target just to get another pair as I think I may wear these ones out!

Statement Style for a Steal

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

I have always loved statement necklaces and now that I own my own jewelry line it is so much fun designing them!  This week we have 10 styles for 50% off and I wanted to share with you a few ways to style them!

I love the look of the boyfriend jeans with a bit of sparkle.  The sequin sleeve shirt is the perfect casual glam look and goes along with our Luxe Deco Crystal Necklace!

SHOP LOOK 1: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4

A pretty little skater dress to go along with our Luxe Two Layer Necklace.  I love the blue clutch as well and you know me and my nude heels, gotta have them!  I especially love these with the metallic cap toe.

And my favorite look of them all, mostly for the hot pink pants!  It's the perfect color for these gloomy winter days and love that you get a hint of the same pink in the Antique Brooch Neon Deco Necklace.  Add some pointy toe pumps and one of my favorite sweaters to keep warm.  I've actually been living in a very similar look these past few weeks!

iPhone #OOTD

Being a new mommy and owning your own business is, to say the least, A LOT of work.  I don't get a maternity leave and so it's been a bit tough taking care of a newborn and making sure that my business is not only running but continuing to grow.  Thank goodness for my sister who's done so much and of course my parents and my in laws.  I love what I do and wouldn't change it for the world, maternity leave or not.  I get to be with my daughter and do what I love every day so I can't complain.  Anyway, as you can tell, my blog has taken a back seat and so has lookbook photos but I still like to occasionally take snaps of my accessories and outfits via my iPhone so thought I'd share!
