Madewell is having a great sale on a ton of items for 40% off but it's today only!  Saw so many cute things, tempted to go check it out in store so I can try stuff on.  This is what I'm eyeing...

Love these cute summer dresses!  Like I mentioned I'm a huge fan of drop waist dresses right now and the chevron dress is just too cute.  I love dresses with sleeves.

You can never have too many striped tops right?  I love the slight variations of these and they would look so cute with shorts and sandals for a cute but casual look.

I'm still a fan of sweaters even in the summer.  I'm always looking out for lightweight summers as my arms are always cold no matter the temperature.  I would pair these with shorts (these floral ones are adorable!) and then they'll transition perfectly into fall with a pair of skinny jeans.

Which brings me to their skinny skinny jeans which have long been a favorite of mine.  I own so many pairs of their skinny jeans because they fit so well that I just buy them whenever I see them on sale.  They are perfect and the ankle length is great for shorties like me, no hemming!  They run true to size for me.

I spotted these pouches and can't resist how cute they are!  For $15 I may get two!  They are perfect to pop into a tote or laptop bag when you need to carry some essentials but don't want them to be scattered all over your bag.

I went to the mall this weekend and spotted the new arrivals at J Crew that I had been eyeing online so tried some stuff on but in the end didn't end up loving them. Thought I'd give you guys my review in case you guys were thinking about getting them too.  Also, I included the sizes I tried on, I found that most things ran TTS for J Crew and for reference, I'm 5'2' and typically a size 0/XS in most brands.

The Tilda Oxford Rhinestone Top is adorable in person.  Sorry I didn't grab a better picture of the rhinestones on the collar, J Crew doesn't have a better close up either but it's so pretty.  I love the detail.  I wasn't so sure about how high it went up on my neck, I felt like it was choking me, so I didn't get it (but if it goes on sale, I might reconsider!).  I'm loving the new Liberty print and immediately gravitated towards the toothpick jeans in the print.  Super cute but a bit pricey.  I have a few pairs of J Crew jeans and they've all stretched pretty badly on me (only after 1-2 wears) and I don't want to be spending $150 on a pair of jeans that stretch so much but if they go on sale, I'll definitely be picking them up as I adore the print!  Oh, the sweater I'm wearing on the right is an old J Crew sweater I was already wearing that day, I just wanted to see how it looked like with a sweater over the rhinestone top which I would probably wear like this most of the time anyway.

I just blogged about this sweater and I really wanted to love it but I ended up not liking it.  The collar is much too stiff and wouldn't sit nicely.  You see how it kind of stands up at the back?  I couldn't get it to lay flat on the around my neck.  I also didn't love the wide stripes on me.  So glad I tried it on before I ordered it online as I definitely didn't love it.

They had a small (very small) sale section that was an additional 50% off so I picked through it and found these cute color block chambray shirts.  In store they were $20 each after discount but they're $29.99 online so I would check your stores first!  I just thought they were cute basics and could wear them with a cardigan or blazer for an easy daytime casual look.

I stopped by Madewell afterwards (J Crew, Madewell and Nordstrom are always my main staples when I hit the mall!) and the sales associate told me they were having an additional 40% off sale so I headed straight back to see what I could find.

First the new arrivals.  I'm a sucker for cutesy prints so had to try on the Starry Sweater and the cutest bow jeans!  The Starry sweater was too similar to my bow sweater that I got at Madewell earlier in the fall so I passed but I'm totally regretting not buying the cute bow jeans.  I love them, however I do have a problem with printed pants/colored jeans at the moment and vowed not to buy any more but we shall see, I may return for these.  :)

Like I said, the sale was an addtional 40% off so lots of great deals to be had!  The Spectrum sweater is not on sale online but was marked down to $69.99 (the prices I list are all before the extra discount).  I liked the chunky knit but it made me look a bit boxy so passed.  The Heartstripe sweater that I've been eyeing was on sale for $59.99.  And I randomly picked up these striped dot pants that I didn't initially love but after trying them on, I knew I could pair them with lots of stuff I had at home.  And the best part?  They were $39.99! (and if you're wondering, I ended up getting these because they are pants - not jeans - so they can be dressed up a bit more and I don't have as many pants as I do jeans!)

- just a note, they were too big in the waist for me and I probably should've sized down but didn't see my size out there so just went with these as they fit fine through the leg.  But if you are getting them I do suggest staying TTS.

I thought I would like the gray Heartstripe Sweater better but I ended up liking this tan with the red hearts.  They didn't have an XS in this color but I like the look of a baggier sweater with leggings or skinny jeans so I don't mind sizing up in sweaters.

All in all, with a few giftcards in hand and the extra discounts, I ended spending under $100!  I was a very pleased little shopper. :)

You probably already know how big of a fan I am of Madewell jeans.  They fit great and don't lose shape easily.  The legging jean is the best for tucking into boots as they don't sag or bunch up.

It's that time of year when I hunt for good boot deals.  These look great and practical as they look like they have a bit of traction on the sole whereas I've been doing a bit of slip and sliding in my other boots lately.  I need something that has a bit more of a practical heel and that won't kill me if I happen to walk on a slippery/icy spot of the sidewalk.

ASOS Bonjour Sweater (now on sale) - I'm not one to wear words on my clothes usually but couldn't resist this simple but cute sweater.
OASAP Sequin Collar Blouse - Thought it needed a bit of sparkle so added the blouse underneath but it created weird bunching all over.  I love this sequin collar that you can just add to any shirt to get the same effect with no bunching!  Actually any of these styles are so cute, I'm going to go to Nordstrom to check them out in person, I'll let you know what I get!

Vintage Chanel bag - have you checked out Belle & Clive?  It's a new sample sale site that has mostly just high end designer stuff.  They always have Proenza Schouler, Mulberry, Valentino, Prada, etc... sales and I'm always ready to pull the trigger on everything.  The prices aren't cheap but they are reasonable and a great way to get a designer bag for a discount.  Anyway, they have vintage Chanel bags this week and they have my bag.  Here's my invite if you need it, they give you $10 to spend once you sign up!

Prada Booties - I like these that are more of a "shootie" since they are lower and don't cut me off too high at the ankles which can make my legs look even shorter.  These booties from Michael Kors are similar.

Lots of great sales going on right now and I was very excited to see J Crew and Madewell running an additional 30% off sale promo!  Unfortunately it ended online but I wanted to post my faves from the sale as the sale prices in stores are often time better than online.  For the ones that I didn't mention the price, it's the same online but the ones that I noted the price, it's cheaper in stores.

I'm a fan of bright sweaters with jeans or dark cords so I loved the neon yellow sweater.  It's a cashmere blend and very soft.  I tend to size way up on sweaters as I don't really like tight fitting sweaters.  For the Tippi, I tend to get the XS or the Small (see the small on me here) but I do love the Tippi, it's one of my favorite styles.  I tried on the XXS just to see how it fit but yeah, too tight and a bit short on the length for my taste.

 I have a shirt very similar to the Leopard print one from Forever 21 so I didn't get this one but thought it was a cute top to wear under cardigans and blazers.  And also for $19.99 plus 30% off, it's a great deal!  The jacket is really cute and fit nicely in the shoulders and arms.  I'm trying to wean myself off jeackets and blazers since I buy them all the time so passed but I do like it.

I need more sweaters as I have more blouses than anything in my closet and loved the colors on this cozy striped sweater.  I have a few of their boyshirts but have no idea why this one is so long on me!  I guess it would be fine tucked in but it really was much longer than their other ones.  I love the polka dot jeans but since I already have a pair I passed.

Madewell is my favorite for jeans and cords as they fit me really well so was very happy to see all the markdowns on them.  I was pretty tempted to bring home the floral jeans on the left (for less than $30, it was such a good price) but I knew I'd get more wear out of the gray floral ones so got those instead.  And these cords are SO soft.  They are the thinner much finer cords which I find to be more comfortable.  I showed much restraint not buying them because I love how comfy they are but my closet is full of colored pants already and I knew that I just wouldn't wear these as much.

The orange cords that I'm wearing throughout the post are also from Madewell. They are the Skinny Ankle Cords and fit true to size.  The polka dot top that I'm wearing on the first picture is from OASAP.  Also wearing our Enamel Bow Pendant and if you want a bow for your phone too, you can get it here!

This was taken the day after I got back from Cabo and I was so sunburned!  You can kinda tell on my knee how red my leg was.  I must've done a terrible job of applying sunscreen as I usually don't get sunburned but I sure did this time.  My leg was so burned it hurt just sitting!  Never again.  I'm upping my SPF and applying and re-applying like crazy next time!

Random Updates

I was in China all last week so I've been a bit MIA since practically every website is blocked there (even Pinterest! my ultimate online addiction).  Anyway, I'm so glad to be back in the cool Seattle weather as China was blazing hot and they aren't ones for AC over there so even inside it was HOT HOT HOT.

I got super lucky on the trip over as they bumped me up to business class and let me tell you, that 14 hour flight was awesome being able to lie down all the way!  I had to send a photo to my husband of all the leg room that I had.

And I love the fancy meal presentation too :)  If only I could fly business class all the time!

I've got lots going on the next few weeks but hoping to get some time to finally enjoy the nice Seattle weather.  Lots of new styles coming to our jewelry line too which I'm super excited to share with you guys.  We are learning lots as we go with our new business and I truly appreciate all the support you guys have given us from the beginning.  Next month will be our ONE YEAR anniversary!  I can't even believe it, it's been such an incredible experience and watching it grow has been amazing and just makes me so happy to finally be doing something that I truly love and am so passionate about.
